          Rose A. Moeser, D.C., Exercise Physiologist

          Dr. Rose Moeser is a licensed chiropractor and exercise physiologist.  She received her B.S. in Exercise Science from George Mason University in 2005 and Doctorate of Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College in 2008; graduating with honors from both institutions.  While at George Mason University, Rose was an active member of the women’s cross country and track and field teams.  She was named a CAA scholar athlete and received the John R. Lynn outstanding student athlete award for the 2005 graduating class. During chiropractic school, Rose joined the health and human performance team and treated national class high school and collegiate athletes.  Rose has taught classes and lectured on topics including exercise and wellness guidelines relating to chronic musculoskeletal conditions, heart disease, arthritis, hyper tension, and partner stretching.
          In addition to her work at the Virginia Heart Comprehensive Weight Management Institute, she is a chiropractor at Positively Chiropractic and Dynamic Kinesiology in Annandale, Virginia.  Rose is a member of the American Chiropractic Association and the Springfield Chamber of Commerce.  Outside the office Rose enjoys running, crossfit, cycling and skydiving.


          Keith A. Kaufman, Ph.D.

          Licensed Psychologist
          He received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from The Catholic University of America in 2008. His dissertation research involved investigating the effects of a mindfulness-based treatment he co-developed (MSPE) on the athletic performance of archers and golfers. He attended undergraduate school at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he double-majored in Psychology and Exercise & Sport Science, and was presented with The Patrick F. Earey Award to the outstanding senior Exercise & Sport Science major. He has experience working in various clinical settings in the Washington, D.C. metro area, including university counseling centers, community mental health centers, outpatient clinics, and private practices. He has previously served as a sport psychology consultant at Catholic University and at Virginia Tech.
          Dr. Kaufman has given numerous presentations in the community and at international psychological conferences. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP). In addition to his work at the Virginia Heart Comprehensive Weight Management Institute, he is an associate at Parkhurst Associates Mental Health Services in the Dupont Circle area of D.C., teaches an undergraduate Sport Psychology course at Catholic University, and is a Research Associate in the Psychology Department at Catholic University. When treating clients, Dr. Kaufman uses an integrative approach, drawing from a variety of methodologies and techniques to best meet the unique needs of each individual or group.           Robyn M. Haaland, MHS, RD

          Registered Dietitian with the American Dietetic Association
          She holds a Masters of Health Science in Human Nutrition from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and completed her dietetic internship at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.  She also graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelors in Psychology from Mary Washington College.  Memberships include Nutritional Entrepreneurs, Weight Management, and the Sports, Cardiovascular, and Wellness Nutritionists practice groups through the American Dietetic Association.  Ms. Haaland has developed her own private practice in Northern Virginia building on her experience with out-patient services provided by weight-loss clinics and fitness centers.  A firm believer that our relationship with food dictates our health, Ms. Haaland strives to imbue her approach to nutrition with compassionate. Ms. Haaland is excited to be a part of the Virginia Heart Weight Management team.
